We offer Rescue3 certification courses, specialized in rescue and safety training in whitewater and floods under international NFPA and Rescue3 International standards. Our courses take place in Futaleufú or any suitable river near you.

WATER & FLOOD AWARENESS CERTIFICATION (AW)

DURATION: 1 day

THE COURSE

The Basic Rescue Course is designed for rescue personnel who can be deployed to still waters, such as canals, lakes and flat waters without much current, where they can operate safely and comfortably.

Who is it addressed to?

People who work near rivers, lakes or canals, operators of dams or artificial water systems and citizens who want to have a basic knowledge of river rescue.

Validity: The certification is valid for 3 years from the date the course is taken.

BASIC WATER RESCUE (BWR) CERTIFICATION

DURATION: 2 days

THE COURSE

Designed for rescue personnel who can be deployed in still waters, such as canals, lakes and flat waters without much current, where they can operate safely and comfortably.

Who is it addressed to?

People who work near rivers, lakes or canals, operators of dams or artificial water systems and citizens who want to have a basic knowledge of river rescue.

Requirements: Be over 18 years old, be in good physical condition, know how to swim.

Validity: The certification is valid for 3 years from the date the course is taken.

Important: Before the certification expires you must complete the subsequent SFR, REC or SRT course.

SWIFTWATER & FLOOD FIRST RESPONSE (SFR) CERTIFICATION

DURATION: 2 days

THE COURSE

This Swiftwater course designed for professionals and volunteers prepares you to operate during emergency situations and support operational teams in higher risk technical water rescues.

Who is it addressed to?

Professional Rescue volunteers such as Firefighters, Gope, Police, PDI, Military, Red Cross among other organized Rescue groups.

Validity: The certification is valid for 3 years from the date the course is taken.

This course is designed to provide students with a theoretical and practical understanding of the basics of Swiftwater rescue. Students will be trained in hazard recognition, use of basic land and boat rescue equipment and techniques, as well as a wide variety of other skills.

A responder is expected to assist and support the technical rescue team. However, you are not expected to lead or take charge. A responder will be able to provide self-rescue, have basic guiding and rope work skills.

A responder may also provide safety assistance upstream or downstream of the accident site. During flooding, lifeguards will help evacuate people and may work in low, slow-moving water. During major floods, they will most likely handle the evacuation of all people, as technicians will have to handle more complex situations.

WHITEWATER RESCUE TECHNICIAN RECREATIONAL CERTIFICATION (wrt-rec)

DURATION: 2 days

THE COURSE

The WRT-REC course is for recreational paddlers who want to have rescue capability while paddling or in a whitewater environment with their peers, for example kayak club members, casual paddlers who don’t pay to go on the river. You will obtain your Rescue3 certification.

Who is it addressed to?

For fans of water sports, such as rafting, kayaking, canyoning, packraft, kayak touring among other personal fun activities in moving water.

Requirements: Be over 18 years old, be in good physical condition, know how to swim, have experience in rivers, seas or lakes on some type of boat or swimming.
Validity: The certification is valid for 3 years from the date the course is taken.

WHITEWATER RESCUE TECHNICIAN PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION (WRT – PRO)

DURATION: 3 days

THE COURSE

Course for white water technicians and professionals, inspired and created for professionals in the outdoor sports industry, specifically for Kayakiing, Rafting, Canyoning and all river activities. It is also requested by more specialized whitewater rescue teams.

Who is it addressed to?

Rafting guides, kayakers, SUP instructors, packraft instructors, canyoning guides, professional aquatic and underwater rescuers.

Duration: 3 days

Requirements: Be over 18 years old, be in good physical condition, know how to swim, have experience in rivers, seas or lakes on some type of boat or swimming.

Validity: The certification is valid for 3 years from the date the course is taken.

Important: Before the certification expires, you must renew or complete the subsequent WRTA course.

SWIFTWATER AND FLOOD RESCUE TECHNICIAN (SRT) CERTIFICATION

DURATION: 4 days

THE COURSE

Over the years, this course has proven to be essential during floods and water accidents. Each day we will cover some theoretical aspects and then practice in the water, covering many possible scenarios. You will obtain your Rescue3 certification.

Who is it addressed to?

Professional rescue volunteers such as Firefighters, Gope, Police, PDI, Military, Red Cross among other organized rescue groups and mountain guides.

Course aimed at river rescue technicians, which shows all the characteristics of moving water and the dangers of the river, the risks of floods and landslides. We will review the different techniques that we need to know to obtain a good rescue operation.

Vehicle Water Rescue (RVW)

DURATION: 2 days

THE COURSE

This rescue3 certification course includes theoretical classes in the mornings and practical classes in the afternoons, applying the techniques learned in class, especially how to stabilize a submerged vehicle and how to safely access, extract and evacuate victims.

Who is it addressed to?

Professional rescue volunteers such as Firefighters, Gope, Police, PDI, Military, Red Cross among other organized rescue groups.

Vehicle rescue, focused on accidents related to cars uprooted in rivers, canals or submerged in floods or natural landslides. It is a specific course for institutions and professionals such as Firefighters, Police, Wild Rescue Groups and organizations or other institutions.

Swiftwater Paddle boat Handling (SPBH)

DURATION: 2 days

THE COURSE

Two-day practical basic course whose purpose is to learn how to maneuver a raft in an alluvial environment, understanding how to face the most common difficulties of flood rescue with non-motorized boats: approach to bridge pillars, evacuation of flooded houses, access to places flooded with high complexity and much more.

Who is it addressed to?

Professional rescue volunteers such as Firefighters, Gope, Police, PDI, Military, Red Cross among other organized rescue groups.

MORE INFO

In this course you will learn how to maneuver a boat without a motor, and how to access remote places where a boat cannot access due to the propeller or due to the morphological conditions of the flood or alluvium.

The teacher, in addition to being an instructor for Rescue 3 International, is also a guide and instructor for the International Rafting Federation.
